Volunteer with Planting Justice
Thank you for your interest in supporting the work of Planting Justice!
Right now, we have primarily two outlets for community members who want to actively support our work!
We appreciate the help of volunteers in our nursery doing seeding, transplanting, plant propogation, and shitake mushroom culitvation. Our urban nursery space is limited, so we're most interested in folks who can make a once-a-week committment to the plants.
We are hosting workshops once a month at the Lake Merritt Community Garden starting in January 2012. Participants in these workshops will get hands on garden training, help us keep our plot at Lake Merritt a shining example of permaculture principles, and have the chance to share our bountiful harvests! We'll be posting more information about these sliding scale workshops in the near future.
Please be aware - we are not able to offer volunteer opportunities within our school education program, nor can we accept volunteer work when we are building gardens for paying clients. Sorry!
We'll soon be developing other opportunities for volunteer work with Planting Justice. Fill out this form and we will include you in volunteer-only communications in the future. In addition, we'll let you know about volunteer opportunities with the other great food justice organizations we collaborate with: Phat Beets, People's Grocery, City Slicker Farms, Bay Localize, Oakland Food Policy Council, etc.
It will only take a moment!
