Cranberry (Vaccinium marcrocarpon)
Fruiting groundcover makes a great landscape plant!
Cranberry plants make a beautiful evergreen groundcover 10-12" tall. Though commercially grown in bogs they can do very well on upland soils, as long as they have plenty of organic matter, acidic soil and are kept moist. Spreading plants have fine red tinged foliage and are very showy with pink blooms in the spring and red berries in the fall. Fruits are high in Vitamins. Self-fertile. Zones 4-8.
